As part of Ladyfest Adelaide I'll be doing some djing at FAD next Friday (December 3rd) for Ease Up Mother Brown. I'll be playing alongside EUMB founders Narelle and Amy from 9pm.
Earlier in the evening, 7pm to be precise, Julie Richards, rock photographer extra-ordinaire will be presenting a solo exhibition of her amazing photographs.
FAD Cafe is at 30 Waymouth St, Adelaide. They recently put Little Creatures beer on tap!
Ease Up Mother Brown is presented by Ladyfest Adelaide, Adelaide Rock Ladies, YWCA of Adelaide and DB Magazine.

My dear friend Sarah has almost singlehandedly brought this festival together. Go check out the website...
Ladyfest Adelaide 2004 (Ladyfest) is a diverse program
set in the City of Adelaide that celebrates, promotes and showcases
the wealth and diversity of women's talents in the arts (including, but not restricted to, music, film, performance, multimedia and visual arts) both locally (Adelaide) and nationally (Australia-wide). Ladyfest will provide a positive and creative space to inspire and empower all women of all ages and backgrounds through participation, investigation, discussion and fun!
Ladyfest will offer a series of presentations, seminars, workshops and concerts featuring music, arts and industry-related topics. Aimed at (but not exclusive to) young women, these activities will encourage and support participants in building new skills and in taking current musical, creative, artistic and administrative skills to the next level. Participants will expand networks and develop relationships that will offer new pathways and opportunities in music/arts industry involvement.

I suppose the best thing about my "participation" in NaNoWriMo is that, like university studies, it has acted as a driving force for my procrastination.
I've been working (obviously), reading multiple books at once (on Saturday I finished , and , and now I'm reading and ) and shopping (four new tops at Harbortown). I've also been to two Bikram Yoga classes, redyed my hair, mended some clothes, received my tax refund and gone shopping with said refund.
I didn't mention it earlier, but a couple of weeks ago I finally purchased a washing machine, so I've been getting creepily satisfied by soaking clothes in Napisan, washing them and then ironing the newly dried clothes. Which means that whenever people have visited I've made them look at my brand new washing machine.
See! It's white and shiny and a front-loader and I don't have to drive anywhere to wash my clothes!

I did actually start NaNoWriMo and I tried two different story ideas that I really do want to write, and I even got about 1000 words of one concept down, only to realise that while I have two ideas, I still don't know how I'm going to tell the story I want to tell.
Instead of worrying about NaNoWriMo I went and bought myself a new journal. It's red and covered with linen and is unlined. I realised that I haven't been regularly using a paper journal for almost a year. As you've probably well noticed, I also haven't been blogging very frequently either.
So I'm hoping that I'll start writing and drawing more frequently, which will inevitably lead to more battlecat updates and hopefully if I update battlecat more I'll actually take some more photos.

I'm going to leave you with a rant about smokers.
Specifically smokers who walk along with their cigarette in their hand and don't take a drag for half a block. Then, once the cigarette has burnt down (and hardly been smoked at all), the cigarette holding walker, sorry smoker then throws the butt onto the ground.
Hello! I thought you were addicted?
Huddle around the entrances of buildings and smoke for all I care, but don't walk down a crowded street and let your smoke waft into my face and airways. If you have to smoke, smoke like you mean it (You're coming up for oxygen? What a pussy!) and once you've poisoned your lungs make the effort to put the butt in the trash.

And suddenly it's upon me... NaNoWriMo!
Unfortunately a particularly scary milestone in the game I'm working on is due at the end of November♥, which means that I might end up attempting to write 50000 words on November 30.
But I'm going to get 1600+ words written tonight. In between work, and dinner and Sex And The City.
I promise.
♥ No, please don't ask me what kind of game I'm working on. If I was to tell you I'd have to kill you immediately afterwards. I'm not kidding.
And it might be a good idea to not ask me about what I'm writing... To tell the truth I haven't really clarified that myself.
This month is going to be so much fun. [I must be insane.]
