well. we've moved into

well. we've moved into our new house! and i'm the proud owner of a new fridge, and i went to womad and i'm typing from below the keyboard, so this won't be long.

i feel exhausted.

my ideal uni timetable is FUCKED up now. and my feet smell bad.

i need sleep.

so i'll go.

it seems ages since

it seems ages since i've done any blogging.

BUT. to fill in.

i've been packing and sorting and throwing stuff out. and looking for fridges (i HAVE to buy one today) and cleaning up my old bedroom so that i don't have to come back and clean it up when i've moved into parkside.

i also picked up the macromedia software that chris and i are getting paid with for doing the housing trust site. we haven't opened it. we're going to wait until we are in the new house with our computers set up. (eventually... soonish i hope chris will put in a networking card and we won't have to walk the massively long hallways of the castle to take disks of stuff down to each other.) anyway, we get dreamweaver 4, fireworks 4, flash 5 and freehand 9 AND when we are finished we get the adobe publishing package
(LEGAL photoshop!) and we get a cd burner and other cool stuff!!!!

but i'm currently (possibly unwisely) adding more and more cds to my basket at chaos as they have 25% off locally stocked cds!

i'll be saving $36.64! only $5.50 postage and they're all cds i really really want. AND i can get them delivered to my new house! ace!

i'm going to get them. i haven't been to melbourne for ages. that's my excuse.

bringing the total to $140.07. it's not so bad.

i should go and buy a fridge now. cds and vinyl as reward for buying a fridge. that's justifiable. and i won't be getting as many cds again for a long while now.

lucky i was in a good mood before i started absorbing all of this. it means i should recover relatively quickly.

i was just checking out the club26 website to see if the new season's program for state theatre is out and i found out i get cheap state opera tickets!!!! i get to go see the turn of the screw!!!!

i checked out the seating plan... it's not so bad... i'd be paying $67 if i didn't have club26 membership, i only have to pay $20!.

i'm so excited. i have to wait until july, but i might also go see sacred and profane in may. (pity there's no concession for wagner's parsifal).

probably reliving requiem is not a good idea. but the website is excellent. very good flash.

i can't explore the site anymore. it's too soon after watching the film.
but go see the film. it's powerful. just don't expect to feel happy afterwards.

my carrot tastes weird. bitter. wrong.

i was so prepared to make up a cool animated rugby player with a fucked knee which bent this way and that [for a friend's presentation]. i can't get my head around the action scripting. i'll have to just make a straight animation. poo. i spent about 2 hours on praystation looking for a basic mouse activated pendulum. i'm sure i'd seen one there. i'd just need to change the movie clip image to a leg and put a rugby player body behind it. oh well.

i'm listening to everything but the girl [temperamental]. i listened to the album once last year, yet strangely i seem to know every song already. i can't even remember hearing the songs on the radio.
maybe ebtg have only one song and they just vary it slightly each time they record it.
all the same, i do like the album.

i looked at secondhand furniture today in hindmarsh. i found a cool 1950s dressing table with a big round mirror for $95. i also found a couple of cool wardrobes. what i'd really want is a big round mirror dressing table and matching wardrobes. in a beech colour. nothing too dark.
i'll just wait until i can have stuff delivered to my house before i decide what i want. anyway, a fridge is probably more important than retro furniture.

so much is going to change with this move. a completely different part of town (though i'm not a stranger to the area), being the only non-smoker (i may be outnumbered but they will remain smoking outside), being responsible for all my cooking and cleaning and bills and health. weird.

i'm listening to the sebadoh (by sebadoh). i can't believe that i've had this for so long and only just listened to it. it's so ace!

it's weird not speaking

it's weird not speaking to stuart anymore.
i realised this on thursday when amanda, spencer, sarah and i went to shotz.
i said hi to stuart. he only nodded at me and said hi back.

i've got other people who i want to speak to now. but it would be nice to communicate with him occassionally.

we got the house!!!!!!!!!!!

it's close to the city and has many bus routes near by. the rooms are massive, there is a dishwasher! a cellar (so stinky that noone dares go below ground!), fruit trees, three bathrooms (but one's an ensuite - so really two), massive cracks in the walls, evaporative cooling, a huge gas heater, off street parking and loads of other cool stuff.

i do have to live with mykl who is one of my bestest friends but he is also one of the people i fight with the most. (if anything he is more selfish than i am!) but he'll have to live with me, so i suppose it will be a fair deal.

we've already got three differently themed party ideas worked out. a mexican house warming party (tequila), an easter egg hunt (lsd for the drug fans and chocolate for everyone!) and a midwinter-we-have-a-cold-house russian party (vodka!)

we don't have a fridge between us. or pots and pans. or a toaster. but i do have a wok. and a chopping board and bamboo steamer baskets. and between them mykl and chris have a full set of decks!

so i must find a fridge. and organise getting telephones and electricity and gas set up. (err. grown up stuff.)

i've just been reading

i've just been reading jack's posts about the demise of pyra and the drawn out end of his job there. it kinda reminds me of the way our jobs our being treated at the sleep lab. it's also re-encouraged my intention to get experience in a non web job (just so i've got something to fall back on).

it seems that i will be able to get computer work but not so much (or so well paid) in the exciting field of the internet. poo.

maybe i'll go work in a shop or a cafe while i'm studying this year.

wow. bigdayout!! we got

wow. bigdayout!! we got a free ticket!!!

i saw a bit of you am i, half of pj harvey [ace], all of the avalanches, most of roni size/reprazent [wow!], and most of carl cox. i danced so much (to roni size/reprazent and carl cox) and that was all in the boiler room so i reckon i sweated away many litres of fluid.

my legs hurt from dancing and playing netball on thursday (we won!).

on thursday night, spencer and amanda and i went rockstar spotting at the hilton. we saw pj harvey and roni size/reprazent, the new boy from you am i, the brother from killing heidi and i fell over and got a carpet burned knee [in front of rock stars - oh no.]. i also got checked for id, which is funny as i was with two 18 year olds.
