phew II

yep, i'm back in berlin!

there was a moment there when i thought i'd have nowhere to spend christmas. but aidan came through with the goods and called to say that he'd organised for us to meet up in berlin.

complication: my email account never received the emails which told me this information.

so i had to catch a train to berlin today without a clue of where i'd be staying tonight.

luckily aidan sent an email through to one of my other accounts and i now know where i'll be sleeping for the next couple of days.

il neige!

the weather has been so so cold here in berlin. my ears have been hurting, my hands feeling numb. and it didn't look like there was going to be any snow.

:(

but this morning i woke up and looked out the window to see tiny bits of white flying past.

a pigeon being attacked by a cat?

construction work?

snow?

yeah!

it felt dry and you could see the way the crystals formed into snowflakes. so so pretty.

i've finally seen snow fall!

i've just hit the halfway mark in this trip. and i'm way, way more than halfway into my money.

luckily at least one of my three remaining months is going to be in thailand.

and tomorrow i head to prague. and i've bought an interrail pass, which means that for the next month i don't have to pay for trains.

and i just booked a ryanair flight from brussels to london for the day that my flight leaves for thailand.

€0.01! but i had to pay airport taxes and a credit card fee which brings the total to €15.

but aside from some food and transport from stanstead, into the centre of london and then out to heathrow, i don't have to spend as much of the pound as i would if i had to spend a night in london.

eek. there is a 15kg checked baggage limit though. i'm going to have to wear a lot of clothes!

but the point is. i'm feeling poor again.

luckily i already have some czech and hungarian money.

i don't think that i'll be going back to switzerland though!
