I feel so much better.
On Thursday I went to my first Iyengar class for the last six or so months. It’s been ages since I’ve been to yoga (even though I had a brief flirtation with Bikram “Yoga”). It was an excellent class, I’ve really missed having classes with Susan, she’s an excellent teacher.
And then, on Saturday I went to a workshop with Pixie Lillas, one of Australia’s most experienced Iyengar teachers. (4 hours of yoga in one day!)
There are moments of clarity in yoga, when a teacher explains something in a way that just clicks in your mind and any number of poses suddenly make more sense. Susan explained how tight hamstrings can restrict correct shoulder movement in downward dog, and how bending the knees, adjusting the shoulders and then straightening the legs can assist in developing a more balanced pose. And Pixie corrected my alignment in tadasana (I wasn’t holding my floating ribs over my hips) which meant that my approach to a whole bunch of standing and seated poses has changed.
So now I am feeling healthy and superbly informed, but I am also feeling rather sore and stretched between the shoulders, along the upper arms and in my lower back.
I’m planning on going to Monday and Thursday evening classes and possibly Saturday morning classes too. Getting back into home practise is going to be much easier now that I’ve been inspired by classes.
Yoga, I’m so glad to be back.

with JamFancy's custom Blythe doll, Blossom Dearie.
I saw some Blythe dolls at Outre when I was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and I've been thinking about getting one ever since. However the intended purchase of a beautiful 12" lady will have to be postponed until I've bought a digital camera and a laptop.
Anyway, I'd better go home as I'm actually heading to yoga tonight.
I'm going to hurt so much tomorrow.

It wasn't always clear when we were testing for specific bugs and issues, and when we were testing for "fun."
We had a scheculde of participants which drew upon the whole company, but schedule conflicts and lax enforcement resulted in the same people playing most of the games. We played too much multiplayer and not enough attention was given to the single-player game.

pete at the perfume pagoda
I've just uploaded a couple more photos from Vietnam. There are still 5 rolls of slide film awaiting processing.
Sorry Pete, but I had to put at least one photo up and I think that this is where your hair looks the best.

shae, tricia, amanda, luella, simon, nadia, katie, rick and tish, jon, wolf, mike, brian... there are more, but to write all their names would rightfully imply that i'm very bad at keeping in touch.
so i'm going to gather their contact details together (email, postal addresses, phone numbers) and slowly write one letter at a time.
and hopefully they'll write back.

Did you miss me? ♥ I hope that you're swell.
Let's see, what have I been doing?
I've started work in a different team at work so I now have the dubious honour (amongst a number of tasks) of bringing documentation to the masses. Chances are, you haven't actaully had to convince large numbers of programmers of the benefits of documenting their code. Let's just say that there's going to be resistance, so I feel that my task is a little bit futile.
What else... I was given two lovely bedside tables by a girl I work with (they have hidden jewellery compartments on the top) so I'm currently in the process of reorganising my room. And I've concluded that I possibly have too much stuff, but I'm still happy to continue acquiring things.
But the important thing to write, the thing that is really, really annoying me? Well, that would be the fact that not only did I miss out on buying tickets for The Shins tonight, but the fact that I missed out on tickets for The Avalanches, who are also playing tonight.
I am a fool.
♥ Luckily, I've been able to register battlecat.net again, and this time I am the domain registrar, so I don't have to worry about my lazy, no-good domain hosts not getting in contact with me.
