by Pippa ~ July 2nd, 2007. Filed under: technology, thoughtoutloud, work.In a move almost as embarrassingly bad as crying out a previous lover’s name whilst shagging someone else, I accidentally wrote Ratbag Games on the delivery instructions for my new Nintendo DS Lite.
I have to admit that despite working in the games industry - I don’t really play games that often. Though, working on the principle that the DS has converted a lot of non-gamers to addicts I thought it might be a worthwhile tax deduction. But the DS isn’t just for games as I’ll be getting the web browser eventually, and one of those brain training types of games as well as Animal Crossing.
Luckily Nintendo industrial design is almost in the same league as Apple - so my shiny black DS will sit very happily alongside my iPod and presumably a black MacBook sometime in the future.

Know how you feel. Also working in the games industry (although media, not production), I feel bad for only really playing dinky little downloadable things rather than the latest whizz-bang whatever.
But yes, I love my (pink) DS lite. I love my Animal Crossing and I am growing to love my Sim City (which I must write a review on, that reminds me). The webbrowser is clunky but functional, and all I’ve heard about Brain Age is that I didn’t give it enough time.
The design of the thing is lovely, and all my dealings with their company (both as a writer and a customer) have been fantastic. Plus, you can be as cool as Nicole Kidman. How’s that!
