- New friends who make up for the fact that old friends aren’t here too.
- Helsinki’s not Adelaide
- Helsinki is more like Melbourne
- Almost everyone wears bikinis no matter what their body shape, so I had no excuse to not buy one.
- Most people speak English.
- Finnish sounds cool even though I can’t say anything useful yet.
- When the berry season is here you can go into the forest and pick and eat as many raspberries, lingonberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackcurrants as you can find and eat with out getting sick.
- Green plants everywhere
- The drying cupboards which hang over the kitchen sink.
- Recycling.
- Moomins
- Bicycles

let us know if you’re thinking about heading to the UK - we get our new flat at the end of July (in Morningside, a posh part of Scotland, chosen ONLY because it’s where mine and craig’s buses intersect!!!)
Would love to see you, and you’d LOVE to be here for the festival in August… So let us know, feel free to come stay if you like, as I say to ANYONE we know who comes here - there’s always Milo and Tim-Tams in OUR hoose!

Moomins are always a very big plus!
Here you can get moomin biscuits and moomin marshmallows . . . moomin piggy banks and moomin blow-up dolls (what for, one wonders . .)

all good reasons, except for the ones downplaying the awesome-ness of radelaide. we have a cabaret festival. seriously.
